Marco's Italian Restaurant - Superb Italian Food in a Traditional Setting
|
Our Restaurant![]() IntroductionTwenty-six years ago a young man named Giuseppe moved from Italy to Bristol and got a job in a restaurant on Baldwin Street called Marcos. He stayed awhile, moved to London, learned new skills. Fourteen years later, a little older and wiser, he bought Marcos for himself. Such is the essence of a traditional Italian restaurant, changes are barely discernable. The MenuThe menu is extensive with an array of classsic starters, meat, poultry and fish dishes, plus a wide choice of vegetarian options. Their specials change daily depending on the best produce available, and the board is presented at your table with detailed explanations and, if needed, recommendations. Pan fried scallops with white wine, mushroom and a touch of chilli sauce are a pleasure to sample, beautifully complimented by a bottle of Gavi di Gavi Granee, dry and smooth with a notably rich flavour. ![]() A recommended fillet of lemon sole covered in prawns and a creamy sauce is truly delightful. The veal cooked in red wine is tender, fused with sage and Parma ham. All meals are served with a selection of vegtables and potatoes cooked to perfection. Desserts are presented on a platter at your table. Traditional tiramisu is perfectly formed and smooth and white chocolate cake is to die for. This central tucked away treasure is a lot bigger then it appears from the outside, with room for around 85 people. The standard of service is top notch, with a fleet of attentive waiters and of course Giuseppe. Whether you're a first timer or one of the many regulars, you'll be welcomed as an old friend.
